Sadly, despite having cut and turned the hay during the good weather, our contractor didn’t bale it yesterday. We’ve had a lot of rain, and there is more to come…not good news for the hay crop. It may yet be salvageable (which is what we are hoping), but the nutritional value will have been affected so we may end up feeding more if the winter is bad. On the bright side, we have some haylege left over from last year – we may need it!
