A couple of weeks ago I posted about making a garden vodka for a friend as a wedding gift. Well, a few days ago I decided it was time to start filtering out the little bits of fruit and seed ready for final bottling. This took 12 coffee filters and about 3 days; very time consuming but definitely worth it. The final product is a rich ruby colour, clear and far, far too easy to drink.
Here it is, perched on my favourite photography stone, dressed and ready for the wedding. I have advised that it is left for another month or so to let the flavours mature. Much like sloe-gin, the longer it is left the better it tastes.
