Following on from a previous post about slow worms…I saw a local news article today that said 200 had been found on a site in Modbury that is due to be re-developed. Not good news for the little lizards – they needed to be relocated.
So how do you catch a slow worm? You put down roofing felt…yes, roofing felt. It may not encourage them to pop over and sort out any flat roof issues you have, but it does make a nice warm place for them to congregate. Then, all the slow worm inspector (okay, I made the job title up) needs to do is collect said creatures and move them to a more appropriate place of residence. Good news that there is a healthy population somewhere, though!
